ReadyServer VPS FAQ
Quick answers to common questions. For a full walkthrough, see the ReadyServer VPS User Guide.
Getting Started & Account
Good news — you can look after both your account and your VPS right from your phone with the ReadyServer mobile app.
Straight from the app, you can:
- Top up your account balance
- Check your invoices and payment history
- Spin up new VPS instances
- See your VPS login details and public IP address
- Power your VPS on or off, or reboot it
- Jump into Console Mode or Rescue Mode whenever you need to troubleshoot
That covers all your everyday essentials — no computer required.
For the deeper, hands-on work — installing software, configuring your server, managing files, or working on the command line — you'll get the smoothest experience by connecting straight to your VPS with SSH (Linux) or Remote Desktop (Windows), since it's a self-managed service. Console Access in the app is always there if you're ever in a pinch, but for serious admin work we'd suggest reaching for a PC or laptop, where you have more room to work comfortably.
Download the Ready Server app and top up your account. Your top-up is converted into Ready Server Points, which pay for your VPS usage and related services.
Credits that your top-up amount is converted into. They are used to pay for your VPS usage and related services.
Creating a VPS
No. Region selection is permanent, so choose carefully during creation.
All new VPS instances must be created using the Basic plan first. After the VPS is successfully created, you can upgrade it to a higher tier based on your resource requirements.
Our Basic VPS plan includes:
- 1 vCPU core
- 4GB RAM
- 100GB storage
- Unmetered data transfer (subject to Fair Use Policy)
During creation. You select Linux or Windows at deployment, and it cannot be changed afterward.
VPS provisioning usually takes only a few minutes. Once completed, your VPS will be ready to use with the selected operating system installed, network settings configured, and access details available in your account.
Managing Your VPS
In the app, under Operating System Login Credentials.
Yes. The app provides Power Management so you can start, stop, reboot, or safely shut down your VPS.
It is shown in the app for remote access.
Use the app's browser-based Console and Rescue Mode to recover your VPS even when SSH or Remote Desktop is unavailable.
Upgrading
You can upgrade your VPS directly from the mobile app. Upgrades are available one tier at a time, and each new tier will become available only after the previous upgrade has been completed successfully.
Please note that VPS upgrades must be performed sequentially. Downgrades are not supported.
Yes. It must be powered off before an upgrade begins. We recommend scheduling a maintenance window to minimise disruption.
Backups
Yes. Daily backups are included for all VPS instances and retained for up to 7 days.
No. They are primarily for internal disaster recovery. Keep your own regular backups of important data and configurations.
Bandwidth
No — every plan includes unmetered data transfer, with no usage or overage fees under normal use. A simple Fair Usage Policy keeps the network fast and reliable for everyone.
Your bandwidth runs on our shared high-capacity network, so dedicated or guaranteed-minimum bandwidth isn't part of the plan.
Billing
Hourly. Points are deducted based on actual usage, and settlement is processed daily at 9:00 AM the following day.
Once the VPS is successfully created and running.
The Windows license is billed separately on a monthly basis. The license fee is deducted in points on the 1st day of each month, regardless of the activation date.
For example:
- If your Windows license is activated on 12 February, 2,880 points will be deducted on 1 March for the monthly Windows license fee.
Please ensure your account has sufficient points available before the deduction date to avoid any interruption to your Windows license service.
